Students take on the role of cyber security investigators, analysing digital evidence to uncover how a breach occurred and identify the likely culprit. As students examine logs, messages, and digital artefacts, they practise analysing and evaluating claims to determine which evidence is reliable. Finally, they collaborate to form and justify a conclusion using clearly defined reasoning criteria, reflecting on and adapting evaluative criteria to judge the viability of their proposed explanation.
